Get around. Departing from Espinho and return to the start point easily to relax and breath the Atlantic Ocean air.

 

Espinho is connected easily to Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Fátima, Lisbon, Viana do Castelo, Braga, Guimarães and Vigo.

 

  • In the surrounding area  of Espinho you can visit Santa Maria da Feira and his castle surrounding by a shady wood.
  • You can visit as well as St. Monestery of Grijó, but you need car.
  • Arouca is a small Town about one hour from Espinho where you can see and visit the “Convento de Arouca”. However, the mains attraction now is the Paiva Walkways that is an 8.7 km trail (the double if you do it in both directions), almost always on wooden platforms, along the left bank of the Paiva River, the place is beautiful for taking photos, to make a picnic and go to the river each during Spring/Summer time. You need go by car and you need about one day to visit.
  • Douro Tour  a program full of animation, history, culture and lots of fun. You don’t go by the same way and you are always seeing and feeling new sensations, flavors and places. You go by train and return by bus. It's a completely day.
  • Guimarães easily reach by train from Espinho, the journey it’s about 1hour and 15 minutes.  It was European Capital of Culture in 2011 and his historic center is UNESCO World Heritage. One single day it's enough to go there.
  • Braga by train from Espinho, the journey it's about 1hour and 10 minutes. This city is associated with the history of the Church in Portugal. It's a big city with many attractions but is possible to visit it, during a single day.  
  • Viana do Castelo is easily reach by train/metro/bus. A very beautiful city in the north of Portugal that is connected with the Portuguese Discoveries and has big tradition with the sea.   
  • Aveiro by train from Espinho, the journey it’s about 40 minutes. known as “the Venice of Portugal” because stay on the banks of a wide estuary, the city has canals that allow you make a trip by a traditional boat named “Moliceiros”.
  • Coimbra by train it’s about one hour away. Coimbra is the city of students and it is one of the oldest still-operating universities in the world, oldest and one of the largest universities in Portugal. The university of Coimbra was recognized as World Heritage by UNESCO in 2013. 
  • Fátima reach by train/metro/bus. You can make a religious visit to The Sanctuary of Fátima.
  • Lisboa. To Lisbon by train it’s about two and a half hours away.
